Eikon

Eikon are a Surrey based Charity whose focus is to intervene as early as possible in the lives of young people whose home and family circumstances have caused them grief, disruption and neglect.

Bereavement, alcoholism, unemployment, bullying, substance abuse, self harm, and attempted suicide all contribute towards a rapid decline and to failed school grades and truancy. Through a network of in-school mentors, out of hours clubs, activity projects and one to one mentoring and counselling, Eikon turn their lives around and set them on a better path to success.

Give it Away has supported them for over 8 years and this donation will focus on identifying job skills and practising interview skills to enable them to be confident and self motivated for the jobs market.  It will also help to fund a Youth Specialist at the Three Rivers Academy in Walton-on-Thames.

At a presentation in their offices in Addlestone, Chris Hickford was offered a choice of “pink” envelopes – luckily he pulled the right one containing the vital cheque!
