GASP Project Surrey

Give it Away re-visited GASP near Woking at their Sandpit premises which houses a garage mechanics facility.

There they offer some of Surrey County’s most challenged and disadvantaged children, accredited courses in motor mechanics and engineering.

At this workshop, in groups of 6, dedicated specialist volunteer tutors offer training and hands on learning covering basic motor skills through to vehicle inspection and repair.  GASP offers 600 students this opportunity where attendance and course completion is over 85% with many youngsters saying this has improved their skills and confidence leading them to consider a career in motor mechanics.

Give it Away’s recent donation will enable a group of six young people specifically referred by Surrey Police, to attend an exciting course in motor mechanics, delivered by the GASP Motor Project during the summer term, at their bespoke garage workshop just outside Guildford.  Charlotte met CEO Alexandra Thompson and other staff at the glamorous Sandpit workshop to hand over the cheque!
