The Meath Charity providing specialist residential care for 79 adults with complex epilepsy and severe physical and learning disabilities is planning a five-a-side football team and has begun preparations for participating in friendly matches and, ultimately, in an accessible football league locally.
The primary objectives of the football training programme are:
- To promote physical activity and improve overall fitness levels among residents
- To provide a structured, fun, and inclusive environment for social interaction
- To develop teamwork and communication skills
- To enhance the emotional and mental well-being of participants
Give it Away are pleased to be one of the sponsors of this project – Charlotte wrote a cheque with Lucy Miguda and we hope to see the pink logo on all the shirts! She then went along to their residential home in Godalming for a practice session and donned the goalie gloves!
