With a history spanning over a century, UK Youth is a leading national charity committed to ensuring all young people are empowered to build bright futures, regardless of their background or circumstances. UK Youth work in sectors including low income families, young people not in employment, education or training, special educational needs, young carers and those facing mental health challenges or coping with physical disabilities.
Charlotte made a donation for use at their leading outdoor centre, Avon Tyrrell, based in the heart of the New Forest at a dinner in Boisdales in Canary Wharf. The young people were on hand to accept the cheque!
The unique and beautiful site of Avon Tyrell featuring a Grade I listed calendar house and 65 acres of land is dedicated to the continuous development of young people and has successfully provided outdoor learning opportunities to over 30,000 visitors this year. This donation enabled19 families with children needing special assistance to spend a weekend together enjoying all manner of outdoor pursuits not normally available to them in the beautiful surroundings of this country retreat. She watched a brave young girl who is a wheelchair user fly down the zip wire over the lake and a family of 4 take to rowing a boat together with their disabled son!
This is what one family had to say:
“Thank you so much for your support to Avon Tyrell. I came this weekend with my 2 boys for the third time. We had a great time and all our achievements meant a lot. Without your support we would not have been able to go this year so it was a special treat”
Many thanks,
Rachel, Thomas and Henry
