Charlotte attended the EIKON Charity Awards for Young People in Chertsey at an event themed as “Super Heroes!” Many young people were presented with Awards for their contribution, courage and determination in the face of some serious difficulties.
She presented a cheque for £55,000 to Chris Hickford dressed as Superman (or was it Shrek!) which will fund a Mobile Outreach Bus which will be driven by Youth Workers around the area during late afternoon and evening to catch up with and support youngsters dealing with issues such as mental health, sexual health, substance abuse, social media, family issues, bereavement etc. It will offer café facilities and provide a range of activities to attract their interest including career counselling.
The donation will also fund a fulltime Youth Worker at Broadwater School.
