November 5th 2014: We Watch Walnut House Become Fireproof (on Bonfire Night!) and Discuss Features With Workmen
We see the updated exterior of the Hermitage Road houses, which have now acquired bricks, windows, doors and fire-proofing panels.
Here, we see our workmen installing the roof panels into Walnut House living and dining area. The panels are fire-proof and the area they are working in will soon become a living and dining room to open into the garden. All tradesmen are from the local area.
Charlotte talks with our workmen about the features of Walnut House compared with Beech House. Both have been designed with totally different layouts, kitchen and bathroom fittings and decoration.
October 22nd 2014: Hermitage Road Houses Acquire Bricks!
Here, Charlotte talks to us from outside both plots about the progress of the brickwork and how ever helpful we are on site!
Here, Charlotte talks us through the progress of Beech House. We walk from the living room to the open plan Kitchen/Diner with a view of the huge garden and discuss the ever-changing size of the cloakroom!
Here we see the progress of Beech House and discuss the ‘handbag developer’ side of things – everything pink!
September 16th 2014: Ruth Zorko of London ITN films at Hermitage Road
Here, Charlotte introduces our latest exciting media piece with Lonodn ITN; which gave coverage about the build, sale and location of the houses, but also involved charities Whizz-Kidz and Eikon, of which Chair of Kidz Board George Fielding and Eikon CEO speak on behalf of their charities on the impact Charlotte’s philanthropic work has had on them.
Whizz-Kidz Chair of Kidz Board, 19yr old George Fielding, speaks passionately here about the difference large donations such as the ones Charlotte gives to charities for young people can impact and change lives. George is a personal beneficiary and now personal friend of Charlotte, who fund the Kidz-Board activities for the charity.
Chris Hickford, CEO of Woking based charity Eikon, talks to Ruth of ITN about the difference Charlotte makes with her philanthropic property development with Give It Away. Eikon has recently received a large sum of money from Give It Away to provide them with new accommodation, more than double the size of their original premises. Eikon strive to help children and young people from underprivileged and troubled backgrounds, providing life skills and education – of which a beneficiary recently worked on-site at Hermitage Road and is now following a career in Engineering.
Charlotte, Chris and George discuss the future of Hermitage Road in this clip, which was also filmed by ITN. We are hoping to get the highest price possible for the builds to give much more money to the charities. Houses are currently on sale with Andrew Waterfall of Waterfalls Estate Agents, Woking.
This is a fantastic video of the real ‘behind the scenes’ footage of Charlotte and George – they have a fantastic relationship, as Charlotte does with all beneficiaries of the charities she is involved with. One of the most important thing to the Give It Away mission is to know where the money goes personally and create a friendship with those Charlotte helps. As you can tell, they have a good laugh together always!
Ruth Zorko wore many hats at Hermitage Road whist filming Charlotte – journalist, camera-woman, director and presenter! Here, Charlotte is standing inside Walnut House open plan living area that opens on to the large woodland garden at the rear of the property. She talks of how she began ‘Give It Away’ and her achievements, having surpassed a give away of over a million.
September 3rd 2014: Pink ‘Topping Off’ Party!
As the Champagne bottle we used to Christen the houses with a smash was too thick and decided not to perform for Charlotte, our trusty Digger, Neil, gave her a helping hand to wish the plots good luck!
September 3rd 2014: Pink ‘Topping Off’ Party!
Gibbs & Dandy provided a generous discount for Give It Away and were the first to do so on the current Hermitage Road Project. Here, post-photocall for the Woking Advertiser who ran an article about the build, Charlotte talks to the men behind the brand about everything the supply and how they are enjoying the Pink ‘Topping Off’ Party!
September 3rd 2014: Pink ‘Topping Off’ Party!
In this video, Charlotte discusses project and party with Lawrence, our wonderful Structural Engineer – who makes sure the houses don’t fall down!
August 19th 2014:
Now we have sourced our kitchens from the wonderful Bhrunil at B&Q Wandsworth (not without some teething problems!), he came on-site to check measurements and colour scheme with Charlotte and the contractors. Each kitchen and bathroom is entirely different in each plot so this has been a lengthy process!
August 15th:
The time has come to hand over the money for our six personally designed bathrooms with Nick from Burge & Gunson, Tooting, London. Nick, as ex-architect, was a great help with re-drawings of plans and re-modelling the bathrooms with a perfect and classy finish. Charlotte as you can tell a lot of fun was had during the many many hours at this shop!
